JOHN ROBBINS: Did you have success?

NICOLETTE HAHN NIMAN: Initially we were really focused on litigation, and we launched several lawsuits that lasted over multiple years. We had some very good decisions along the way and they resulted in some important remediation. But I think our greater success was that we began a more nationalized connection of grassroots activists. We found pockets of people in different places all around the country trying to fight factory farms in their local communities. We began to network them, and to play a part in what has become an important national movement to try to de-industrialize the way our food is produced.
